All freshly stitched! I'm working on a baker's dozen. Been pacing myself, so I'm embroidering them 4 at a time. I've realized that if I break down my project into parts, it's easier to complete. The past weeks have been filled with lots of doll parts, tiny dresses, and embroidery. Here are some new gals that I've added to my shop!

Stitch Rock's Birthday Show

Last week, SeeSueStitch participated for the 1st time in the Stitch Rock Craft Fair at the Old School Square in Delray Beach. My sister came along with me and we were both floored by the venue and myriad of wonderfully talented artists and crafters. What also impressed us were the special little details like the swag bags they made for the sellers and the cute party favors to celebrate the day. They made the cutest wooden brooches with Paper Sparrow's animal design lasered right on to them (lovely!). Midway through the festivities, there was a fashion show and they even served us cake! What a treat!

 

 

 

 

My sister was the best helper ever! And I was really lucky to have some awesome vendors/neighbors around me like Elisa Gomez (she makes gorgeous jewelry!), I Work Artwork (amazing crochet plushies!), The Hemp Butterfly (awesome hand-knotted jewelry!), and Sea of Bees (the most original jewelry pieces I've ever seen!). All in all, it was truly an amazing experience. This is definitely a show I hope to do again next year! Sue

Go Stitch Rock!

So excited to share that SeeSueStitch got accepted to the Stitch Rock craft fair which takes place this coming October in Delray Beach. I'm definitely pumped and have a lot of work ahead of me (can't wait)! Sue

My Embroidery Take on a Cupcake

I've caught the embroidery bug again. After I finished these brooches, I was inspired to come up with new cute embroidery design, so I started doodling in my sketch book and came up with a yummy cupcake. Here are some pics:  

 

 My cupcake naturally transformed itself into the sweetest pillow (pun intended!). I christened it a Yum Yum because of its cute lip-licking expression. It's definitely a keeper! For this coming week, I've decided to make a set of them in different prints, can't wait! Talk soon, Sue

Putting the Disco back in Bow ties!

Seriously! I've always loved the whole ruffled shirt and bow tie ensemble. I grew up watching slasher films like Carrie and Prom Night where the ruffled tuxedo look was a standard. Who would have thought ruffles on men could look so appealing? But it was, in a very non-conventional and fun way.

William Katt looked quite dreamy in his tux (I have to admit his hair looked prettier than Carrie's).

Ruffles and bow ties came back thanks to American Pie.

When it came to my monkeys, I thought about my odd obsession with 70's prom garb and knew both ideas would go together wonderfully. These fellas need prom dates. Any takers?? Sue

Some Serious Monkey Business

. . . well, among other things. These sweeties are almost done. Can't decide which one I like more, maybe the rainbow one? I just need to add to some cute final details and they'll be all set to be posted in my shop.

Today I scored some wonderful deals at my local fabric shop. I found a whole yard of a cream crushed-velvet fabric for $2! Not too shabby! My favorite cotton yarn was on sale too. Hopefully, the 4 skeins that I bought will finally be enough to finish my tie-dye suns blanket!

When I saw this Farmdale Orchard Apple fabric by Alexander Henry I had to have it, and with 30% sale plus my teacher discount, I got a yard for only $2. I want to have a new tote for the next school year and this print is just perfect. I've got a great pattern to use too . . .

Spring Fling Recap

What a hoot! My 2nd time around at the Indie Craft Bazaar was amazing! I got the chance to mingle with a wonderful mix of very talented sellers, and felt the handmade support from all the lovely customers (SeeSueStitch's dollys were a hit!). I think the best part of going to these shows is meeting on-line friends like LeeLee; she is sooo sweet and her booth was super cute! During the downtime, I was able to snap some pics of my table stand: I had all the intentions of capturing many of the wonderful sellers at the show, but to my dismay, my camera's battery died (I forgot to charge it!!). Oh well, I'll be sure to never make that mistake again! I'm planning on posting a lot of new cozys and change purses onto my shop, so stay tuned later this week for a shop update! Talk soon, Sue
