It all started when I was looking through one of Flickr's Embroidery groups. I kept coming across these tiny squares with the cutest embroidery, like pretty little houses, adorable spotted mushrooms, a delicate bird's nest . . . think a mini-sampler of sorts. Well, my curiosity piqued, so I began scouring the web and found 39 squares, an inspiring blog started by Amy who decided to celebrate her 39th birthday by creating this project. Neat idea right? Well many have agreed and these cutesy squares have spread like wildfire. I even have the itch! I've already set up the layout for my sampler and it'll be made up of 36 squares (and no, it has nothing to do with my age, I just like the number, so HA!). Once I get my feet wet, I'll be posting some pics of my progress. In the mean time, here are some gorgeous examples to keep you at bay:
