Every year, my bf and I have a tradition carving a pumpkin and roasting pumpkin seeds to welcome Hallow's Eve (see here and here). Well, this year some good friends of ours decided to throw a pumpkin carving party; the pre-requisite being BYOP - bring your own pumpkin ;) . . . and so we did, and we had the best time. My friend set up a long table in her front yard, and the 15 of us set about different tasks, some were gutters, others carvers, and a select few were separators which basically was separating the pumpkins seeds from all the gunk, so we could roast them later.
Our pumpkins ranged the gamut, from simple designs like UF -go Gaters!- to traditional 'kins (mine!) to intricate ones like a haunted house and graveyard! Once it grew dark, we lit up our pumpkins and regressed to kids oohhing and ahhing over our jack-o-lanterns. Do you have any special Halloween traditions? I'd love to hear from you! Sue
